Ringing in the Holidays in Baltimore

Time to get in the holiday spirit! We’ve compiled a list of our favorite festive traditions as well as some new experiences to test out in Charm City.

Thursday 12/2

Celebrate the 50th annual Monument Lighting in Mount Vernon! Gather with friends at Mount Vernon place to experience this legendary event featuring festive entertainment, food, and fireworks that officially kick off the holiday season in Charm City.

Saturday 12/11

Lace up your sneakers, put on a Santa hat, and grab a running buddy for this festive 5K Jingle Bell Run held in West Short Park along the Inner Harbor. Proceeds benefit the Arthritis Foundation.

Later in the morning, get a cocktail crash course from one of our partners, Baltimore-based Cane Collective at the Sagamore Distillery. Attendees will sample whiskey and mixers and receive a handcrafted mixer bottle, a Cane Collective mixer and Sagamore Rye Whiskey to bring home. To purchase tickets, click here.

Now Through 12/23

Stroll along a real Candy Cane Lane as the Downtown Partnership transforms Center Plaza into a larger-than-life candy-coated wonderland. Giant ice cream cones, thousands of lights, and sweet displays make for cheerful photo opps. Held Wednesdays - Saturdays 5-9 pm and Sundays 4-7 pm at 100 N. Charles St. For more information, visit here.

Now Through Christmas Eve

Baltimore’s authentic Christmas Village is a can’t miss experience for city-dwellers. Returning for its eighth season, the Inner Harbor German Christmas Market will feature rides, crafts from more than 50 vendors, authentic German fares and two German Beer Gardens.

Now Through New Year’s

Holiday in Hampden, Hon. Perhaps one of Baltimore’s most popular holiday experiences is the Miracle on 34th Street.  For more than 70 years an entire city block in Hampden lights up with festive decor.

The Four Seasons Hotel in Harbor East transforms its fifth-floor Harbor Terrace to a 1,800 square foot synthetic skating rink. In addition to a festive fun vibe, see expansive views of the Inner Harbor and the city skyline. Warm up with decadent European-style hot chocolate with house-made marshmallows, hot toddies, and s’mores.

However you choose to spend the holiday season, we hope it’s filled with warmth and cheer.
