Halloween Happenings 2021

Baltimore is home to some of the most extensive Halloween celebrations on the East Coast, many of which occur just blocks from Chasen residents.  From family and pet-friendly, to spooky and spirited, here’s what’s in store this coming holiday weekend.

The Nevermore Haunt

Historically themed and Baltimore inspired, The Nevermore Haunt is a haunted house located in the heart of Baltimore. Set in the late 19th century, at the site of the old Kaufman’s Store, the event takes its inspiration from the city’s dark past, featuring a menagerie of specters and spirits; drowned sailors, tortured factory workers, unlicensed physicians, street urchins and mysterious creatures.

Federal Hill Halloween Bar Crawl

Gather with friends and don your costumes at the Federal Hill Halloween Bar Crawl on Saturday October 30th at 4pm. Attendees get two free drinks and the opportunity to “crawl” to participating bars for exclusive drink and food specials. Professional photographers will capture the fun and all are welcome to participate in the ultimate costume contest for a $1,000 prize.

Maryland ZooBOOO

Held the weekend of October 29-31, this event is fun for all ages. The Baltimore Zoo’s 38th annual ZooBOOO! Festival features games, prizes, contests, live entertainment, and FREE trick-or-treating!

SOBO Halloween Bash

October 30 is South Baltimore’s Sobo Halloween Bash which features a DJ, games, costume parade, and food and drinks. Located just blocks from The Darcy and led by volunteers and sponsored by local businesses, this free annual event is meant to be a day of fun for neighborhood families.

The Original Poe Grave Ghost Tour

Baltimore was home to the renowned poet, Edgar Allan Poe. The city is also where the poet died, which means you can experience ghost tours in the Westminster Burying Grounds at the corner of Greene & Fayette, right by Poe’s Grave. You’ll learn the history of the burying grounds, the tale of the mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe, the tale of Frank the Body Snatcher and more spooky stories of the Ghosts of Westminster--all while touring the grounds and the catacombs beneath the church.

Howl-o-ween Pet Costume Contest

Hosted by Fells Point Main Street Association, this is an unforgettable experience for you and your furry friends held on Halloween at 4pm in Broadway Square. Prizes are awarded for the following categories: Most Creative, Best Group, Funniest, Scariest, Owner Look-alike.

Mask-erade at Barcocina

Located at one of the top waterfront bars in Fells Point, this Mexican-inspired restaurant is celebrating Halloween in style and offering an open bar in addition to regular General Admission. Get dressed to impress and ready to party all night long.

Halloween Boo-Runch at Kooper’s

Grab friends and family (including furry friends) and book it to Kooper’s Tavern, one of the most popular pubs located on Thames Street in the heart of Historic Fells Point. This free event from 10am to 3pm is the prime spot for pumpkin decorating & creepy cuisine.

Whatever path you choose to celebrate Halloween, may your treats be many and your tricks be few. We invite you to share your spine-tingling and spirited moments with us by tagging @ChasenCompanies in your posts.
