Meet The Team
Annie Villamater, Acquisitions & Investor Relations Analyst
What is your role, and what does a typical day at Chasen look like?
The majority of my day is spent working on Business Development alongside Drew and Reed! I spend most of my time researching and underwriting potential properties that we may invest in to see if they are feasible for our business model. So far, I have been able to go on several property tours to check out prospective projects, and attend meetings with potential tenants who are looking to lease our retail spaces. I also will be working closely with Paul to explore our new investment platform with the goal of incorporating it into our business model and enhancing our communication/relationships with our investors.
What is a hobby of yours that you believe is beneficial in the workplace?
I love to travel. I think it’s really important to explore new places, and to remove yourself from your comfort zone. I believe that the same thing could be said for the workplace, especially when pertaining to commercial real estate!
What Baltimore community is your favorite? Fells Point! I really love the restaurant and bar scene in Fells and the fact that it’s right on the water. I love spending a Saturday afternoon hopping around and trying out different spots.
What app you can’t live without?
Instagram. I love photography and seeing what my friends are up to. I don’t typically follow the news extremely closely, so it’s also informative for me on that front. That sounds pretty Gen Z, but the heart wants what it wants.
First job?
Growing up I used to spend my Summer at my family’s beach house where I would work at the local sail shop scheduling excursions and handling retail! It was a really fun first gig.
You have 30 minutes of free time - how do you spend it?
Catching up with friends and family! Or cooking! I really love to cook, but that might be a little more than 30 mins.
Would you rather: Design or build?
Design! I almost was an art major but decided to pursue International Business instead. I really love being creative. I used to paint, glass blow, and throw pottery in high school and college. Creativity has always definitely been an outlet for me.
