Meet The Team

Chris Dorsey, Project Manager

"Construction Site Master"

What is your role, and what does a typical day at Chasen look like?

As a Project Manager, my day begins by organizing the onsite construction team and workforce who are located at one of our many properties under development in Baltimore. Once complete, I head to our construction office to update paperwork and review plans and construction details. I’ll wrap up my day back on the construction site reviewing what has been completed and what needs to be focused on for the following day as well as any orders that need to be placed.

What is a hobby of yours that you believe is beneficial in the workplace?

First and foremost I enjoy spending time with my two daughters. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and in the Wind River range outside of Lander. Fishing is a great way to unwind -- my favorite spot is off the east coast of Florida in Jupiter. I also enjoy rock climbing, sailing and snowboarding. These hobbies may not have a direct tie-in to my job, however they keep me active and bring relaxation and balance outside work.

What Baltimore community is your favorite?

I enjoy Fells point. The neighborhood is active--there always seems to be some event or interesting festival going on. Fells Point is also home to some beautiful views and great restaurants and bars such as Thames Street Oyster House, One-Eyed Mike’s and The Point in Fells.

App you can’t live without?

Facebook allows me to stay looped in. I live such a busy lifestyle that it can be hard to stay connected with friends and family.

First job?

My first job after college was with a marketing firm in Towson. It was not the best experience so I ended up joining two of my friends in construction and I’ve been in the industry ever since. It was a shift I’m glad I made early on.

You have 30 minutes of free time - how do you spend it?

When and if I have 30 minutes of free time I usually spend it outside with my family. However if I’m feeling particularly lazy or need to relax after a busy week, vegging out on the couch with my daughters is time well spent.

Design, build or tear-down? What are your dream projects?

I much prefer to build because you can see the progress each day and it creates a tangible product. That being said I enjoy adding design details or unique touches when I can--it really brings the whole project together.
