Meet The Team

Callie Causey: Operations & Office Manager

"The Catalyst"

What is your role, and what does a typical day at Chasen look like?

As Operations and Office Manager, part of my role is to keep up with accounting and payroll. When I’m focused on tasks in the office, I’m often picking up permits, coordinating electrical upgrades and utility work for our properties, tracking and completing on-site inspections with city officials, and ordering construction materials to keep our projects moving.

What is a hobby of yours that you believe is beneficial in the workplace?

As crazy as it sounds, I enjoy cleaning and organizing, which aligns well with my role at Chasen Companies. And I’m just as organized at home--my house is always spotless and clutter-free. There is nothing like coming home to a clean and organized home, which is the ultimate way to feel relaxed after a busy day.

What Baltimore community is your favorite?

Fells Point is so unique--I love the cobblestones and colonial architecture. Thames Street offers a variety of entertainment, awesome food, and fantastic views of the harbor. I also enjoy spending weekend mornings at the Fells Point Farmers Market in the warmer months.

App you can’t live without?

Instagram. I love all the lighting filters that are available when taking photos.

First job?

I grew up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. My first job was as a Hostess at Harborside Bar and Grill in West Ocean City. Fun fact: it’s the home of the original Orange Crush!

You have 30 minutes of free time - how do you spend it?

Taking my French Bulldog, Buster, to the Canton dog park.

Design, build or tear-down? What are your dream projects?

I love the type of projects we are investing in right now--taking buildings that have been around for decades and maintaining their existing structure and historical elements woven in with modern design.
