What is your role, and what does a typical day at Chasen look like? 

In the 3 weeks I’ve been at Chasen, I love the fact that there is no such thing as a typical day!  The legal function crosses over all areas of the business.  I may be reviewing a contract with an outside vendor, supporting our business development team when exploring an acquisition, coordinating documentation related to financings, assisting our leasing team and property management teams with lease or tenant issues, helping our construction team on project site developments or discussing high-level strategy with our executive team.

What is a hobby of yours that you believe is beneficial in the workplace? 

I enjoy bike riding and cooking.  Both require a certain amount of attention to detail but also allow for time to let your mind wander and be creative.  I think all of those traits make me a better lawyer and businessman.

What Baltimore community is your favorite? 

Baltimore is great because of so many idiosyncratic neighborhoods.  But I’m partial to one of the newer ones - Harbor East.  I lived there from 2005 - 2011 and witnessed its tremendous growth first hand.  I love the walkability of it and its great restaurants.

App you can’t live without? 

It’s gotta be either Twitter or ESPN.

First job? 

I worked behind the counter in a deli (I could scoop pasta salads from the display case with the best of them!) when I was in high school. 

You have 30 minutes of free time - how do you spend it? 

Definitely with my kids!

Would you rather: Design or build? 

The good news being at Chasen is that I don’t have to decide!  Both are so interesting to me and I love the learning curve I’m on here trying to take it all in.
